Re: What's your favorite species of puffer?

Porky by a large margin. It's my favorite fish I've ever owned. If sw wasnt such a pain and expensive I would get another.

Oh yeah. It hasn't been that long. Eating and burying is a good sign.

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

Well no pics since the little guy is buried and all you see is eyes and snout. But on a fun note, my wife and I went for a little walk down by the water and I brought home some little shore crabs. The Suvattii and hairy both had for crab dinner. The Suvattii totally ambushed the little crab and the...

Re: Congo struggles

These thing is so picky It will eat nightcrawlers, but only the pointy ends right now. Use to eat shrimp, but quit. Tried krill it snobbed it. Tried crawfish, fish filet, etc no luck. Garlic solution no go. I fed some clean feeder fish, but it only managed to catch one in 2 days.I've used tongs and...

Re: Congo struggles

Maybe try smaller food items? Small worms instead of nightcrawlers, or maybe some live ghost shrimp or cherry shrimp? I did notice it having problems biting into the krill. It made a perfect v but didn't slice through like I anticipated. It also had problem slicing through that little fish in the v...

Re: It's been awhile....new suvatti

I caught it swimming around early this morning. I'm going to drop some moonlights on tonight to see if I get some night activity.

Hopefully I can get away long enough to go searching for driftwood and rocks this week then get some top water plants going.

That is a very thin M turgidus. Treat for IPs.
I requested pics of their Leiurus and that's what they sent. They had a nice looking barbatus mixed in initially someone stole for $30, but this is all that's left.

Someone might be willing to buy, but these look too rough for me to chance.

Re: which puffer to go for...

I think I'm going to go with Baileyi... The Abeis that are available a) I'm not 100% sure they are Abei and also b) They didn't look amazing specimens (really dull and faded patterns and super skinny) I may regret it if i can't get hold of Abei's in the future but we'll see :D I'll post pictures wh...

Re: which puffer to go for...

I wouldn't go smaller than a 40 gallon for a Baileyi Really? Mine is a 20g long & never swims around the tank. Heck--he almost never shows his face, unless I toss food in there! Still one of my favorites though... I haven't owned one yet (next yr maybe), but the ones ive seen have been pretty activ...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

It hasn't been all that long, but yeah these can be a pain to get on dead. Id leave it be for awhile. Mine turned its nose up at a worm today and hasn't buried yet. Heres what Dray sent me... Yours was eating frozen krill pretty regularly, but I’m sure it got some bloodworms and brine shrimp mixed i...

Thanks - do you know which tends to be the more active?
I'm not sure about the fangs but my old abei was very active. The hairy is more active out of the lurkers from what I've seen.
