Re: The savage

ouch! did it leave a scar? did it hang on or just a quick bite and let go? I best get myself some thick gloves! Its not bad. Looks like my scar from a pocket knife related incident. It came up hit the tip, shook, and swam off. My current jaguar cichlid is roughly 15" with a mouth full of sharp poin...

Re: The savage

Has anybody on here ever actually been bitten by a puffer? I'm extra cautious, i don't put my hands actually in the tanks other than my schoutedeni tank but they're only 2-3 cm at the moment! Yes my old full grown suvatti. Snuck up on me and took a v out of my finger tip. It wasn't a fun experience...

Re: Labeled Leiurus

I don't know what's up with the leiurus label lately. I don't think I've ever seen a true leiurus offered in the US.

Labeled Leiurus

I was told this is a leiurus but the snout doesn't look long enough. I think this is a fangs puffer. Any thoughts?

Puffers are just so bold, love that about them. Mine never hide during any tank maintenance. But mine never have bit me or tried to.... yet

Glad to hear the Congo is eating again.

The savage

This little puff is one tough customer. I was trying to clean the glass and add some decor. It bit the every piece of driftwood, the scraper, wc hose, & tries me everytime I get my hand close. As you can see I couldn't get the glass done due to hazardous conditions. On another note its off the hunge...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

That's just a suvatti being a suvatti. They eat like a wood chipper. You should see what they do to a live fish. Im doing three 1/3+ wc's a week right now after every feeding. I really should of put it in a bigger tank. It could foul up the 20 quick. I wish I would of thought about drilling these ta...

Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti

4 shrimp?? Yeah I'd say it's improved. That's got to be a relief.

How's the suvatti doing?

Re: It's been awhile....new suvatti

Well it went from the very back on the sand to the middle on the sand. So I guess that's progress

Not yet. I'm hoping to go tomorrow. I'm trying to keep it on the DL. I hate slapping together tanks like this, but who knows if these would be available again anytime soon.
