Re: Fahaka Stopped eating

Great Kass, with lots of food being offered keep an eye on the water parameters, last thing you want is an ammonia spike

Re: Krill Junkie....

Sounds like the crayfish maybe too large for this puffer. If he can fight him off I would be concerned that he may injure the puffer when hunting at night.

Re: Fahaka Stopped eating

I had very similar behaviour with my fahaka. I have read that parasites can make their way to the mouth making eating painful. I used a bath of prazi over 24 hours to treat. While none of it likely makes it to the stomach it did trigger feeding si I could get meds in. I also noticed that feeding cou...

Re: Too much snails for little F8?

Keep an eye on the water parameters, lots of chewed snails could mean a spike in ammonia

Re: GSP single or pair? + Brackish Plants?

Its going to be the gradual transition, the first step was about a teaspoon of marine salt in 60ltrs of water, one puffer showed no change but the second developed grey flanks. I will hold at this level for a week. There could be a range of reasons for the grey flank, they had parzi dosed bloodworm ...

It is quite common for this species to come with IPs & often have to be treated multiple times over it's life for them.

Re: Fahaka Stopped eating

Don't feed all of them. Set up a separate container, clean but never having had detergents near it. Place the amount of shrimp you want to feed with the med soaked food.

Re: GSP single or pair? + Brackish Plants?

I have the second. They so far are swimming together peacefully and only 2cm each so very young. Treating for IP as the third in the shop tank looked very poor with black stomach. My wife was not impressed with another tank however she has been caught watching them and says they are very cute.

GSP single or pair? + Brackish Plants?

So I went to the local pet shop to pick up antiseptic for a dog paw and came home with a GSP. There were three in a tank incredibly skinny and a quick conversation with the fish guy there indicated that he knew nothing of puffer fish "great fresh water fish, lives on blood worms, no their not skinny...

Re: Arothron Nigropunctatus subdermal parasites

After searching I found a thread here discussing a green spot puffer with skin worms. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/vie ... 0&start=45

Sounds like surgery is the only option to remove them?
