Have you added your puffers yet? Could you report on how the tank is doing. I am thinking about adding some bleeding hearts in with my SAPs.

I have three. One is shy, but the other two like to come and greet me. Even the shy one will come to see whats going on as long as there isn't a lot of fast movement. I really like to see them school and the best is when they hunt in a pack for a ghost shrimp, circling around it or backing it into a...

I didn't have any specific questions, at the time, but was just wondering if they were successfully used. I have however thought of some other questions. Can a shop light be placed in a canopy or do they produce to much heat? If they are in a canopy can they be directly mounted to the top (wood) or ...

Using Shoplights
I have seen in some of the post that members are using shop lights. Do any one have thoughts about this. I have a 48" and am looking to have the plants grow rather than just survive w/o spending a lot on lights. Any thoughts at all would be helpful.

Also check out the South American Puffers. I am waiting for some at the LFS for my new puffer tank. I think one or two would do fine in your tank but feel free to correct me anyone. I also had high pH but was able to lower it with bogwood. I don't know if this is recommended or not though. I boiled ...

where in Idaho are you? If you're south and want to take a day trip, Zamzow's on Federal Way in Boise, used to carry a fair selection. The guy Kim was pretty knowledgeable and willing to do special orders every so often. I don't know if he is still there or not though. Pets are People Too, in Moscow...

snowflake fugu
I just left my LFS and they had a fish labeled as a snowflake fugu. It was the same body shape as a fugu, but its whole back was white with a few gray flakes.
Anyone seen one of these before or know anything about them?

Well the LFS just told me that they would be getting some SAPs in next week. I think I'm gonna go with 4 and if there is a problem move one in to my 20 (snail breeder) and maybe get a AGA 7 for the snails. So this weekend I'm off to find something to over filter the tank (I'm thinking canister) and ...

Thanks for the feedback. One queston on SAPs though. Some places say they will do fine in a higher pH and some say then like it acidic. I have a pH of 7.8-8.0 (crushed coral sand substrate but the water is that alkaline with out the substrate). Would the SAPs be okay if there was some bogwood in the...

Fahaka question
Would it be acceptable to keep a Fahaka in a 55 gallon? I will be moving (or getting a job and therefore a larger tank) 2 years from now. Will it be harmful to keep a Fahaka alone in a 55 for that long if it is currently 1.5 inches long. If so, are there any suggestions for active freshwater puffers...
