Re: Should i get my GSP another GSP buddy?
So you agree that a 55g isn't large enough for 2 adult GSPs? Just wanted to throw my two cents in on this topic. I have a 55 gallon full marine with my two GSP's. One is 2.5 inches, the other is 1.5 inches. I consider it "okay" for now. (I'd muuuuuch rather a huge tank for my babies, but ...

Re: GSP in full marine, tankmates?
What SG are you at now? Make sure you aren't upping the salt by larger than .002 increments, as this can kill your good bacteria and cause the tank to mini-cycle. Did you cycle the 10 gallon before adding the GSP? Are you testing the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates? I sure hope so! If not read the E...

Re: water proofing a tank?
You mean a 120 gallon? yeah, that might happen... For how many GSP's? The standard is minimum 30 gallons per GSP. I have my 2-inch and 1.5-inch GSP's living peacefully in a 55 gallon currently. But I'm living in a one bedroom apartment until September. They will definitely be upgraded after the mov...

Don't worry, the snails are entertaining enough to watch on their own!

Re: TPF Youtube channel?
I think the idea is great. However I think it'd only be great if taken care of by a long-term member who has a lot of experience with puffers. (I'm talking years+). I'd love to see TPF eventually have a youtube channel. I am guilty of "you-tubing" puffer videos for hours on end - it'd be n...

Re: Need advice! 2 GSP's 55gal Decoration Setup
I bought them all online, the places I used were petsmart.com and thatpetplace.com. All together spent about $60 dollars. But got about 20 plants. Some are silk and some are plastic but I was really really happy with both retailers and with the plants themselves.

Re: Need advice! 2 GSP's 55gal Decoration Setup
Hey everyone! I've been lurking forever now and been too lazy to upload new pictures but here is a new-ish tank shot after decorating: http://oi53.tinypic.com/30hqvya.jpg Although it has since changed! They frequently get decor changes, about every two weeks to keep them from being too bored! But I ...

Re: GSP Coloration
I would think this would be a color change due to the change of environment. My two GSP's are very "moody" in that they change colors frequently. Mine often get that "dusky" appearance I think you're referring to after I've moved their rocks/decor around or after water changes, e...

Re: I CANT DECIDE!!
I have the AquaC Remora on my 55gal. (However mine came with the Rio 800 pump instead). I love it; I've been really happy with the results from day one. It's the only skimmer I've ever used though, but I have no reason to switch

Re: frozen shrimp as GSP food
Both my GSP's are big fans of frozen shrimp. I thaw in tank water until no longer frozen and then toss it in. They also love mussels. My local WalMart sells a bag of mussels in the frozen seafood section, raw and in their shells, for approx $4. My GSP's loooove the mussels, too. Very easy and afford...
