Re: Gsp in 34 gal tank, can I put anything else in there?
i had bumble bee gobies in with my gsp and it worked out ok. i think you have to remove the bbgs as you increase the sailnity to a certain point as the bbgs wouldnt survive. i remembered being told that on here when i had mine Thats cool that they got along, but too bad they can't stay together. I'...

Gsp in 34 gal tank, can I put anything else in there?
Hi everyone I have a Green spotted puffer in a 34 gallon tank and I was wondering if I could put any other kind of fish with him being as he is so small and the tank is big. I was tempted to get a figure 8 but I stoped myself knowing that the tank is probably too small for two puffers and that the g...

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
Will do then. I've been doing a wc every two days or even daily, guess I need to make sure to do it daily for sure now and a larger amount each time. Is that high of ph really bad for him?

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
I just tested the ph of my tap and it looks to be about 7.8, the ph of my brown puffers tank looks to be about 8.2

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
If the ph in his tank is 8.3 what should I do to lower it? That is the highest ph i've seen in my tanks, but i'm worried that it might be harmful to him as brown puffers like a lower ph. Should I take action to lower it and will he be ok in a ph around 8? I've also heard that drift wood is good at l...

That would be cool, but I wonder if he would use it. I'll have to try it out if I can find one for salePufferpunk wrote:How about an acrylic see through one?

Yeah I wouldn't take away his cave, I was just thinking about getting one that I could see him better in. Either way he is a nice puffer.

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
Those behavior characteristics were why I eventually got rid of mine. I like a puffer I can see. He was really cute though. You had a beautiful brown puffer :) How long did yours get? I really hope that mine will be more active, and let me see him more because I too like a puffer I can see. I think...

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
I do lots of water changes, at least 50% a week but more right now because my brown puffer is in a smaller tank than he should be in until his larger tank is fully cycled. So I have been doing small water changes pretty much every day just as a precaution. You're doing a great job for a new fishkee...

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
Do you guys know what is the usual temperament of this fish is? When I first got him he seemed really friendly and swam around the tank, but now he seems to stay in his tree cave and hides. When I do see him out he quickly goes back into his cave when he sees me. :crying2: I've only had him since De...

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
What's the pH of your tap? The ph of my tap reads around 7.5. So it's pretty much the same as in my tank. You can leave the snails in unless you have a different place to keep them. A diet is definitely in order though ;) Specific pH isn't too important as long as it is relatively close to neutral ...

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
He is a little overweight. I'd reduce his feedings to every other day. I've only had him for a few days and I haven't seen him eat yet. But I guess it doesn't help that I have a bunch of snails with him in his tank. I think he is cute being so round, but I get your point. I know that it isn't heath...

Re: New Puffer fish :) Please afrim ID
How long is he without the tail? Edit to add..do you think he is a juvenile, teenager or adult? He is around 3.5 inches with his tail, probably around 3 without. So he's probably a teenager. I've already fall'n in love with this fish, he's just so cute and round! A very chubby turgidus, too! lol, Y...

When Can I feed my gsp these sanils...
Hi everyone my sister had a fish that had ich. she's treating it now by keeping the temp at 86 F and there is no more white spots on the fish, but the problem is that a large portion of my snails that I feed my puffer are in her tank. So here's my question, when will it be safe to feed my puffer the...
