What S.G. do you have him in? what does your mother feed him? What size was he when you got him and what size is he now?

Ceylons are more agressive puffers than Dog-faced puffers. I wouldn't trust your ceylon with the dragonet or bat fish either.

Give him time... If I move my plants around my GSP gets spooked and hides for a bit... but once he's used to it he spends most the time sat at the front of tank looking out, waiting to be fed and every now and then doing a complete search tank and biting at anything that remotely looks like a snail.

The puffer in question is a Green Spotted Puffer so to be aclimatised to full marine. May try a couple of hermit crabs, he does seem to go for anything that moves though, if not they'll just be expensive food!

Try getting some veggies to him too, either by gut loading shrimp with them, or if your lucky your puffer may eat them. My GSP likes peas if the outer shell is removed.

You need to buy a hydrometer from the LFS and some marine salt (not aquarium salt) i.e. Instant Ocean Marine mix.
