im wondering if feeding my puffers mussel will be giving them enough range of nutrients (plus whatever they pick off the liverock)
they only seem to want to eat mussels! there is all different kinds of 'meat' in the mussel, so i wonder if mussels alone will be giving them what they need?

Re: puffers not eating?

puffers not eating?
my puffers seem to have no interest in food at all? tried flakes, pellets, plankton, bits of prawn... they seem very happy and active, bright, flaring their tails and playing in the powerhead flow... and are quite fat. could it be there is still enough benthic fauna and flora in my tank to keep them...

a skimmer is handy for sure, but this tank is going to have to manage without one.

Re: hi
very interesting read thanks
i have no skimmer on the tank, so can i try vitamin C at a lower concentration?
unfortunately in australia furan is illegal
i have been trying freshwater dips in iodine, it might just finish off the poor zoas
but then again it might just work?

Re: hi
probably cant tell from the pics, but the liverock was intorduced gradually and built up into a complex maze of caves and tunnels, which makes it a bit hard cos the food just dissapears into the abyss. i have a damsel in there as well, which just nails the food. but the papuan is kinda shy and slow ...
