Re: IPs?
Thanks PP, thats reassuring. I just always associated white stringy poo like that with IPs... I treated the fish with the metro and prazi before mainly as a precaution and because the lack of growth seen. But maybe i just have to be more patient for the growth.
IPs?
I’ve had this Fahaka for about 2 months now. Very active and eats well. Never thins out much between feedings- if anything his belly remains well rounded. He is about 3” and has maybe grown 1/2” since getting him. I don’t see his poo too often but when I have it looked normal- chunky/roundish. Tank ...

Re: wounded fahaka
She did not make it.... I tried to do a necropsy on her, but at 1 3/4" it was hard. There was no visible wound but part of her ventral area was darker with a red squiggle within it. When I opened her up it was hard to see defined organs. It looked like everything was mush. She could have been d...

Re: wounded fahaka
There is no heater in the tank, it's in the sump. There is driftwood in the tank, it.could have been from that. All the rocks in there are pretty rounded.
Best thing to do is keep the water clean? Melafix and pimafix?

Re: Camallanus?
I've read you can soak food in Epsom salt. Would you recommend this method?

Re: Camallanus?
I will get out my dslr and get a better picture.
It looks like a reddish mass with very small "worm like" projections. It was out of the body a couple days ago. And then went back inside. And now today it is out again...

Re: Camallanus?
She ate some food soaked in levimasole HCL last night and this morning is purging dead worms (white stringy poo) and looked like she was convulsing. She may be having trouble pushing out dead worms? I will try and feed a pea later today or get some Epsom salt. I have read some places that levimasole...

Is 180 gallons enough for a fahaka?
I recently lost a fahaka I have had for 7 months. He was under an inch when I bought him and did not grow longer than 2 inches before he passed. He had IPs I could not get rid of. He was in a 180 gallon (6x2x2) since I got him. Most of his life with me he was quite active and seemed content. Seeing ...
