GSP & Scat

The scat was originally purchased as a "guinea pig" to cycle the large tank for my 2 GSPs that were being temporarily housed in smaller tank. I figured the scat would be running for his life once the GSPs made it there. Long story short, both GSP were from Wal-Mart and had IP and one made ...

Re: GSP bends in half periodically and appears skinny

This was a real helpful thread -

Unfortunately it didn't save one of my two Wal-Mart GSP with internal parasites and the sunken-belly : big head look. The other Wal-Mart GSP did recover and is nice and plump and doing fine so I thank everyone who contributed to this thread.

Saw the article but it pretty much said that there's not enough info to make conclusions. If it's the rigfht article we're talking about

Takifugu Ocellatus

Saw two Takifugu Ocellatus at LFS, each about 3~4", one was very actively swimming, the other was buried in the substrate.. They both looked exactly like http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Marine/T_Ocellatus/DSC_0020.JPG.html Pufferpedia was very vague about these guys. An...

Can it be a bare 5 gallon with no extra filtering/warming/etc?

Puffer Food

Is there any Puffer food that trims the teeth that can be purchased online prepackaged or is buying and breeding snails the only way? Can you guys please help by posting how you keep your puffers fed? I decided to pair up my SAP (another SAP, maybe 2 more to go in a 55 gallon) instead of letting him...

Re: Baloo - Congo Puffer

Nice! I saw one of these today at a fish store in North Side of Chicago at Ocean Design Aquarium Inc, 6500 W Irving Park Rd Ste 2 Chicago, IL. Very nice place they have, very clean. I'm not sure what they normally go for but I think they had him for $80 or $90. I took a few pictures... puffer.jpg pu...

AVOID at all costs!! Wish the law in IL for negligence...

Would include fishes! I went to Scott's Pet Shop (3054 Wolf Rd, Westchester, IL 60154-5622 (708) 562-5000) on a friend's recommendation (she hadn't been there in years) and I was absolutely disgusted. Me and my wife left literally feeling sick to our stomachs. I know the LFS will always cram the tan...

So it looks like the majority think that it will become an issue eventually.. not the encouragement I was looking for but I'd rather hear bad news now that I can do something about it than later when my Dwarf Gourami is already missing a fin...

Re: Hello from Chicago

Hey there, I live in Franklin Park. Where did you find a SAP? If you dropped the SG from SW to 1.010, I'm afraid you have killed off all the SW bacteria & you are at square one. Please keep a very close eye on those parameters & post them here. I didn't know that, I'll check and post it lat...

Re: SAP - Your personal experiences please - Worried

You should quarantine snails, because diseased snails can wipe out a tank.. And you will need a snail tank to breed snails on your own so that you can hope to keep the sap's teeth down. here is a snail breeding article http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/feeding/basic-snail-breeding/ SAP s ...
