Hows the shelter coming along J-P? It's startin to get chilly out! ;(

Cherry shrimp and snails seem to be fine together, they will both breed alot in an unheated tank. My shrimp just clean the shells of the snails but haven't seen them eat any. What kind of native species plants are U thinking about using?

The filter U are using is only good for keeping a single guppy happy in a 10 gallon.IMO I would definitely look into getting a larger filter. Puffers are messy eaters, eat alot of live foods and create a large bioload, especially on such a small filter. Triple the amount of filtration U have with we...

jak jak, Do U use a gravel vac at all in the substrate? If U don't I highly suggest getting one A.S.A.P.
U may also want to test the water coming out of the tap, this way U will know what the baseline is.

Ideally your stand should be a bit larger than the tank, not hanging over at all. I do have one tank setup(70g) with a black trim that hangs over about 5mm. If U do end up purchasing a hydrometer make sure it can read low sg. I bought one once for brackish, and it was deemed useless. A refractometer may be the way to go, however they are a bit pricey sometymes.
