Re: where do you get your water from?
IME, cheap plastic tubing does not work well, especially under vacuuming. Python's tubing is actually pretty high quality and is quite lasting. I still us one well over 25 years old which still has its original tubing. It is a bit discolored (a like brownish tint) but still works just fine. Having ...

Re: where do you get your water from?
If your python isn't long enough... go to Home Depot or something and get 150 feet of plastic tubing for $10 and change the tube on your python. Easy and cheap. I bought the "ends" of mine second hand and bought the tube seperate. Works awesome.

I was kinda wondering the same... totally sucks, but is it a forced sale? Hate when things like this happen.

Re: ANYONE HAND FEED THEIR FAHAKA???
I don't find there's ever a need to hand feed any of my fish. I also do not use the "tweezer" method... I let my filtration take care of messy bits of food my fish don't eat. Weekly 50% WC on all my tanks except the marine. I'm also trying a small experiment with a Pothos plant. I have a b...

Re: fahaka and plants
They like to bite everything to see if it's edible. I always find small pieces of plastic leaves in my sump lol.

Re: Cenote Tanganyika: 300G Mbu build thread (56K warning)...
I've noticed the same thing about my Fahaka... He hasn't gotten longer lately, but seems to be gaining "girth" lol.
He's about 10" now, in a 150 gal. I've had him for about 2.5 years now. He was the size of a nickel when I bought him for $40.

Re: Marineland 65 Gallon Saltwater Tank W/ Corner-Flo
Corner flo? Do you mean corner over-flo? Sounds like this tank requires a sump... not so much a hidden filter
PM me. I'll tell you all about setup.

Re: Cenote Tanganyika: 300G Mbu build thread (56K warning)...
That fish is gorgeous. Love it. If he lived in a 125 for 2 years at that size... I'm sure he'll be fine for 10 in this tank. Not like a few more inches will make a difference... and as far as water chemistry goes, that filtration/WC schedule will be plenty. Well done!

Re: Mangroves in Tank
That ref is not awful, but is not a very good primer on handling mangroves indoors. Perhaps if the author had used much more and better light, he would have had better growth and nutrient utilization and less leaf drop (which is likely a response to inadequate humidity levels). Salt marsh/shore pla...

Re: have MTS in my pea puffer tank!
The MTS are feeding on dying and decaying plants. Slowing feeding will not slow the MTS. I have a heavily planted 55 gallon with 2 albino senegal bichirs, 3 bristlenose plecos, and literally thousands of MTS. They are amazing for cleaning, and turning over your substrate (even though only the surfa...
