thanks for the help guys. i was a little freaked out i thought something was wrong, but i guess its normal.

oh i just wanted to add we don't feed him freeze dried at all, only live(snails and shrimp) and frozen (krill, bloodworms, brine shrimp)

well he has lots of ghost shrimp in the tank with him, i fed the shrimp spinach and some veggie discs before they go in the thank so there is some nutritional value in them. he eats the krill once a day (loves the eyes), sometimes we feed him bloodworms and brine shrimp (thawed in vitamin H20) anf o...

so every morning when i wake up i go and turn on the lights on my GSPs tank. This morning I woke up and did the same thing, except i slept in so i was about half an hour late. Well Verde (my GSP) comes and greets me at the front of the tank, "yawns" and puffs up! He was a good 3 inches fro...

wow, lol i have no idea which way to go now. but i guess everyones experiences are different. i was actually speaking with someone on another forum and they had a ceylon and a gsp. and it wasnt a pretty sight, they didnt mix well. in his words "DO NOT DO IT. The Ceylon will annihilate the GSP, ...

thanks for the info jtbadco. we're having so many different thoughts on what to do with the tank. and Verde (my gsp) doesnt seem to be liking his 30gal very much. all the params are good, we had an ammonia spike i have no idea from where, we clean the tank once a week, but we brought it back down. h...

So I've has my GSP since august, right now hes in a 30gal FW, but we're starting to introduce him to BW. To put a long story short, my 80gal tank which used to house a dragon goby and some other brackish fish had an ich battle that we lost. So all the fish in the 80 are gone. We tore it down, washed...

this is actually the 1st time i've heard not to use cycle. this will be the 5th tank i've cycled. all of them which i used 'cycle' and i chunk of established filter media. all my tank took a maximum of 2 weeks to fully cycle

okay, i have looked around my city at about 10 different stores. i couldnt find a pure ammonia like that article explained. the ones that i found either had an additive or when i shook it, it bubbled. what else can i use. i've heard of people putting in a piece of shrimp. or could i just take a piec...

I'm using nutrifin cycle. the stats as of yesterday were : ammonia-1.2 nitrites 0.1 i didnt bother doing nitrates yet.
