Re: puffer species confusion
What can i say. I'm easily confused
anyway at least i know what i have thats the main thing. Unfortunately if I went into my local LFS and asked some staff for fish by their real name they would be calling language line for an interpreter.

Re: puffer species confusion
sorry to bring the species confusion up again but todays featured puffer (solandri) is what i have. Even on the pufferpedia it calls it a spotted sharpnose. But a spotted sharpnose is Jactator not solandri???? i'm either going mad or missing something ridiculously obvious. The latter i suspect.

Re: puffer species confusion
my tank isn't 40g. it works out at about 54 UK g. which is more again in US g. there is ample swimming space with just enough LR to provide shelter, i am not new to marines but new to puffers so sought proffessional advice before adding anything. 4 relatively small fish in 250 litres fish only tank ...

Re: puffer species confusion

Re: Valentini Puffers
yeah it's pretty much the same size as when i got it. before going in the 250 it was in my coral tank with a clown and a flame angel. not sure why he hasn't grown much. he's always had plenty of space for his size and my local marine shop are really good for trading fish back if they start to get a ...

Re: Valentini Puffers
The Regal is only about 3 inch and has been for years. both puffers only reach about 4 to 5 inch and the yellow tang is same size as the regal. all small. i have a seperate tank if i ever need to move somebody out. believe me i wouldn't be cruel. they all have plenty of room and water peramiters are...

Re: Hi
Thanks. I did do a fair bit of research before i got my puffers but a lot of information can be quite contradictive. one query being my other post regarding species ID. long story short one site says one name another site says completely different. i'm hoping real puffkeepers views and advice will b...

Re: Valentini Puffers
I have 2 small breed puffers along with a regal tang and a yellow tang in a 50g. 2 should be fine if you keep on top of your water maintenance and pair it with a similar size puffer. my two are a valentini and a jewel puffer. i'm considering a 3rd. you don't need to go mad with rock but you will nee...

Hi
Hi everybody i am relatively new to puffers although have kept a successful fish/coral tank for about 8 years now. Up until now i have stuck with small reef fish and even now stay with small puffers such as the jewel puffer etc. i hope to get to know people who share my fondness for marine fish and ...
