Re: GSP from Walmart?
Wal-Mart flushes all returns live, so if he decides to keep the other fish rather than the GSP, he'll need to find another store or a friend. OMG!!! Are you serious!? Luckily he has a few extra tanks, and can set one up for the other fish. The GSP is quite small right now, so it's not an emergency ...

GSP from Walmart?
First, it's not me, I promise!! I'm still traumatized by buying and worrying about the Orange Saddleback Fugu that you all helped me realize shouldn't be in novice care. My brother sent me a pic of his new fish today, and it was a gsp he got from Walmart. I've heard NOT to buy any fish from walmart ...

Re: Takifugu Ocellatus
Thank you guys! I was wondering if there were "starter" puffers! :) I will be researching BEFORE making any trips to the lfs from now on. And I'm never giving my business to the guys that were selling the Fugu again. I've been looking at the galleries of all of your puffers on the forum, S...

Re: Takifugu Ocellatus
:yourock: I know that was a very hard decision, but I think in this case you made the right decision...you could not care for the fish..so you gave the fish another chance... Thank you! I think it's best for the fish,I hope the RIGHT person gets him and takes good care of him. I also hope they read...

Re: Takifugu Ocellatus
I want to thank everyone for help on all my fugu issues! After worrying for 2 days about the life of this fish I contacted a Marine Specialty store and brought the little guy to them. I printed out the artical specifically about the Takifugu Ocellatus from this forum and brought it to them. I also g...

Re: Takifugu Ocellatus
A 20 gallon tank is useless for an occellatus beyond quarantine. As has already been said, they are not fish for heated tanks at all, grow quickly, and are extremely active. They are extremely difficult fish to keep alive even for experts. I have tried repeatedly without long-term success. If you a...

Re: Takifugu Ocellatus
Thank you everyone! I knew I needed special salt but didn't know what kind, so thank you for that Carmen. I also didn't know how to add it, so thanks again! I will be taking the freshwater fish in my tank (2 danios and 2 guppies) to the store with me to leave with them when I pick up some salt. Ther...

Re: Takifugu Ocellatus
They Fish Store acted like it wasn't a difficult fish at all, and I really thought I asked all the right questions. It was 18 dollars. I'm used to paying a couple bucks only for the regular freshwater tropical community fish, but this one was so pretty!
I hope I can get it right, I'm going to try!!

Re: Takifugu Ocellatus
Thank you for the links. The Fugu is swimming around a little less irratically now (although still obviously very stressed), and I realize I should calm down because it's not like he wasn't use to the freshwater at the pet store. But I DO like him a lot and want to give him the best possible environ...

Takifugu Ocellatus
I have a 20 gallon freshwater tank and have 2 danios, 2 guppies, and 2 ghost shrimp in it. I realized the danios picked on the guppies (kiled 2 already) so I went to a reputable fish store to have my water tested and possiby look for a couple tank mates that would do. After looking at the puffers, w...
