yeah i believe you are right RTR. i have heard of Takashi Amano using such things as yeast, baking powder and a 2 litter beverage bottle with a hose poke through it to create his first co2 injector. I'm no chemist, but these ingredients apparently create carbon dioxide.

so, is it OK to leave a fahaka in a tank with a few other fish then? I currently have my fahaka- Umlaut in a tank with two firemouths. they dont seem to bother eachother but i was wondering if it could stress him out to have other fish in there? he just lays in his cave now.

I'll get him started on mussels and snails asap. he doesn't have long teeth though, i hope this wont affect his eating then. any suggestion as how to get him started eating. he can be really finicky.
