Re: Not there anymore!!
We had it for a month, and we always fed generously (because we were afraid he would eat the crabs, we couldn't take them out as the tank is very deep)... I keep thinking maybe he died, and then was eaten, but could they eat so quickly that we do not find ANYTHING? It was a big fish, like 25 cms, an...

Not there anymore!!
My puffer had been seeming tired these last days, probably because of the heat. But he was eating and all. This morning it had been two days we didn't see it, so we tried to attract it with food, it only brought small crabs and stuff (he never attacked them). So my husband took apart the rocks and a...

Re: Free online database of aquatic vets
I know of a great place (including ER), but they're so not the type to be online. How can I get them registered on the site so people can find them when needed?

It went away the day I posted (already did before, but came back) and hasn't been seen since!

Re: Sick arothron (white stuff, open mouth)
It wasn't mean to stay there. We did ask if it was fine for a short time, and were told yes in a place that never gave bad advice before. It was bought already sick too, didn't catch anything in the tank.

Something hanging behind the fish
After my first one died, my husband bought a new puffer, from the best shop around, supposedly very resistant. It looked very healthy until today. It is still active and behaving as usual, but it has this on the "rear end"! and it is coming and going! http://lh3.ggpht.com/_TeJIa70ZQgw/TCYz...

Re: Sick arothron (white stuff, open mouth)
So ladies and gents... Updates for you. Unfortunately he passed away. I contacted the specialist (never mind he was on the other side of the country and wanted 600 euros for a home visit, I would have done it if he didn't pass before). He said the fish was sick before the purchase, but the drop in t...

Re: Sick arothron (white stuff, open mouth)
Thank you all for your help. I keep it in 25 gal because it is very young, less than 3"... I plan to put it in 100 gal when it will grow up. Until saturday, he had a big nice belly, then on Saturday evening he started defecating for hours. Since then he looks skinny. Today it almost didn't eat ...
