I dont do anything. Everything is self supporting. snails eat algae and plants. worms eat any poop and plant mass that falls on the surface. and my SAP eats them both. Ok, I'm very curious. I have really good water current in the tank already, but all of it is from the back to front. Pehaps if a powerhead was added going parallel to the front of the tank he would get more exercise thus not being so scared and hyper???

Mmm, so they only risk is that the colony could starve, and collapse. Turning my water into something very nasty.

The risk of having a number of live blackworms in the substrate is that the water depth and food availability for them is iffy. If a colony collapses, the tank can go sour quite rapidly.
