Re: GSP losing green color
I will upload a picture in the morning, but thing we seem to be forgetting is that things just don't happen out of no where. I realize, as many of you have pointed out, that puffer's coloring varies quite a bit do to there mood swings, if you want to call them that. I pointed out that his color has ...

Re: GSP losing green color
I do about 50% water changes every week and the tank has been up an running for about 7 years so there has been plenty of time for growth. He will change colors here and there, but not like this. He never had the white color of his belly begin spread that far up. It is staying that way too. Not a ba...

GSP losing green color
35 gallon tank with 2 GSP. Yes, I know it's a small tank, but they are juveniles and are fine for now, showing 0 aggression and discomfort. Ammonia = 0 Nitrite = 0 Nitrate <10 Salinity = 1.008 Ph = 7.8 One of my GSPs began losing some of the brilliant green color he once had along the sides. It's ju...

Re: What is my dwarf puffer doing??????????
Sooo I have a perv for a DP huh? HAHA! As far as salt, I use that Instant Ocean Sea Salt. These Figure 8s and GSPs have been together for about 7 months now I believe. Well, I probably will have another tank soon so I will be able to split them up before they mature and grow more.

Re: What is my dwarf puffer doing??????????
Ok...Any idea about the picture though? Also I seem to get different opinions from everyone I talk to about this issue, but do you think that Figure 8's and GSP's can coexist in the same tank? I understand the aggression rises with age, but is it potential for those two puffers to live their lives t...

Re: What is my dwarf puffer doing??????????
Trust me. It's is a GSP. I would hope I know what fish I have in my tank. HAHA! He is just really ill. He came in with a batch of puffers that had a virus. Obviously I didn't find this out from the store until the next day. Yeah I just thought this was odd. I honestly did not think that the Dwarf Pu...

Re: White abrasions on Figure 8
Yeah...so my spotted puffer is just giving me hopes now. He is acting really weird. One second it looks like he's going to die and then an hour later he is up and moving around better. I'm gonna just wait and see with that, but I posted a different topic in the general discussion section about an od...

What is my dwarf puffer doing??????????
I currently have a very ill spotted puffer due to a bad batch of puffers that came in at the pet store where I bought it. It is currently lying at the bottom of the tank, not looking too well. I noticed just a couple minutes ago that my dwarf puffer was staring at the GSP and then proceeded to rub u...

Re: White abrasions on Figure 8
Thanks for everyone's help. The spotted is doing better now that the medication is kicking in. No longer has color fade and is no longer gasping. It was not color fade from being sleepy. None of my others do that and if that were the case then that would have meant my puffer was sleepy 24/7 which ob...

Re: White abrasions on Figure 8
Tank was already cycled. It was up and running already. Yes nitrates are 0. None of my other puffers change colors when they sleep. They just curl up in a ball somewhere. I'm not saying that I don't believe you, but I have never had a puffer change colors during sleep. It is also clear that it has n...

Re: White abrasions on Figure 8
Already answered the question in my first post I believe. Everything is the same. Nitrates, nitrites are 0 now. They were reading just above before. That is the only change. The only difference from the figure 8 puffer is that the spotted is resting on the bottom and is breathing very fast and heavy...

Re: White abrasions on Figure 8
Yeah....another puffer is ill now. It's the smallest of my spotted puffers. He's about an inch long. Whatever is was must of hit him before I moved them. What should I do? It's losing color on the top. The spots are starting to fade. He is resting at the bottom and taking really heavy, fast breaths....

Re: Ack!! Look at this!
Might be swelling from something lodged up in the good 'ol rectum. If that is the case....it will break down and they will work it out. I don't think it's swelling from a parasite or anything like that. Not 100% though.
