Re: Orange congo
So, does this mean that Congos have a certain amount of camouflage ability? I have mine on a combo of white aragonite sand and natural colored pebbles. She stays brown and sometimes develops a black freckle or two. Will the brown ones get any color to them with red sand? How about red color food?

Re: How do you feed your Congo (miurus)?
My gal has been gone a couple of years now. :( She would go after the really small crays. I didn't know that :( I'm so sorry. That is the most beautiful fish. But also, thanks for the answer. I think I'll try the crays and see what happens. Side note: Big tank maintenance day, and I just found hund...

Why did I suspect that might be the answer. How about yours? Do you feed crayfish?

Sounds really good, Purplecandle. We have a cake store near us that makes the most incredibly delicious cakes you ever tasted. Everyone around here knows, if you're gonna do it right and knock their socks off, you bring home a Taste of Elegance cake. Their buttercream is ethereal. So much so that th...

Re: How do you feed your Congo (miurus)?
I'm looking at an auction for two self cloning marbled crays. Can you guys reassure me that if I get them, it's likely that Tater (my Congo) will eat the babies? So far the only foods she takes are live fish and bloodworms, if she's really hungry. I have a tank set up for crays but don't want to foo...

"Dilution is the solution to pollution".
I always thought that a really well-cycled, over-filtered tank would be a breeze to maintain with rare water changes. I learned better this year.

Re: Reliable source of live blackworms?
I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that nobody in our area carries them. I will have to get them from an online dealer. Thanks! ETA: checking that link RTR, that's the vendor who sold me two batches of dead worms :( He sells on eBay also. If you have dealt with him directly and had good success, I'l...

Reliable source of live blackworms?
I know several of you keep live blackworms for your fish. What is a reliable source in the US, please?
I had one horrible experience with an eBay seller, don't want to do that again.
Thanks.

Ok.
How long do you leave the mussel in the tank? I want to be diligent about not letting it pollute the water but I have no idea how long is ok.
