Re: Anyone ever use this skimmer?
I've got an Octopus BH1000SS HOB. Love it.Mek0ng wrote:I have a 220 run in sump, its okay. I would not run it HOB because the adjustment knob can leak and if it over skims, the water will get on the floor.
If you need a HOB skimmer look into the octopus line of skimmers, they are supposed to be very good.

Re: What kind of coral is suitable for a GSP?
Min. 60 gallons for the two and some people think that is still to small. Welcome to the Puffer Forum btw. P.S. This is news to me about not vacuuming a marine water tank. I said not recommended. Some people absolutely vacuum their marine tanks. But when you do there are countless organisms that li...

Re: What kind of coral is suitable for a GSP?
Yes, your freshwater bacteria is most assuredly dead. Good chance your gsp is in danger being in a tank that is likely not properly cycled. If you dont have a marine test kit, get one and keep a close eye on parameters. You will need to do lots of water changes till it does cycle. Lighting will have...

Re: What kind of coral is suitable for a GSP?
I noticed that there are different types of live rock. Are there big differences between Caribbean, Fiji, and African live rock? Which would benefit the GSP most? The type of live rock you use is personal choice. It should all serve the same purpose. Is the gsp already in this tank? Did you properl...

Sounds like he has you well trained. If you wanted to feed him a bit of brine I dont see an issue, just make sure its spirulina brine. At least that way it has some nutritional value.

Re: What Puffer Will Eat NLS Pellets?
Puffers need a large variety of different foods in their diets including some hard shelled items to keep teeth wore down. Pellets would be on the very bottom of that list if at all. Would this puffer be going in the reef tank? I can only guess the tank the triggers are in is way too small for just t...

Re: Ripley my Valentini
Thanks all. She very rarely messes with the hermits and if she does its never serious. More comical than anything. I prefer it wasnt my hawaiian reef hermits (the two big ones in the video) but to be honest it wouldnt bother me if she picked off a hermit on occasion. They're cheap enough.

Re: Best Buy Return Policy
I have had similar issues with Best Buy. In short, when the clerk asked if we were going to have a problem I told her she had a 300 pound problem and she better find someone to make it right of her next call better be the police. She quickly got a manager who solved the issue on the spot by doing as...
