Re: Bloat eye problem???
I know most puffers get more active, but he will lay in the same spot everyday enless he see's me walk up and he hasnt been fed yet. This is pretty how much how mine acted. Only active/interactive when he hasn't been fed. I don't know if it's a personality thing or an age/slugging out thing. Probab...

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
Quick update,
The puffer was cleared of his illnesses and went to someone with a bigger tank and better knowledge.
I'm definitely not done with the Fahaka keeping, so I'll be back.
Thanks everybody for your help

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
Passing the 8th worm at the moment. Eyes clearing up slowly Ammonia and Nitrate spike, not sure what caused this. I did a 50% WC yesterday prior to pimafix and melafix, and added appropriate amount of salt back into the tank after. Currently using prime. There is still a trace of Ammonia, Nitrate ba...

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
Passing the 5th worm since treatment as I type this.
Temperature is raised to 84 to increase the effectiveness of salt.
His eyes are very dark at the moment.
It's just heart breaking to realize that as soon I he gets better, I have to rehome him.

Jungle lab parasite clear treatment duration
How long can the treatment go on?
I've done 4 treatments so far every other day with 25%, because it's working..
but the package says up to 2 treatments.
Any experience/thoughts?

Hey JP,
Sorry to hear about your loss,
I have lost a few fishes before... usually the bigger the fish, the creepier the death I think.
I've accidentally boiled my old betta to death when I was doing a WC.
I hope that makes you feel better.

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
He didn't eat it.
He passed his 4th worm this morning.
I went out and got more Melafix and aquarium salt.
I dosed the parasite clear tabs earlier today,
I just added salt, Melafix and Pimafix.
He is being very active.

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
Yeah, he didn't eat it so I'm going to have to try the garlic press tomorrow. I already started pimafix, he stopped moving for a bit like it shook him when i dosed the tank, but then is back to normal again. The worm is still in the process of coming out. I'm going to have to do whatever it takes to...

No idea what that means.. lolJ-P wrote:the difference is a Mc Paddy and grinding your own beef
Sounds like Haitian whacky voodoo torture to me.
I am however re-trying garlic guard.. squid and mussel, and an earthworm soaking in the vegetable crisper.
(Thank God I only eat frozen vegetables)

I don't mean to sound argumentative but isn't that what garlicguard is?
It's just garlic extract

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
Yeah, I would medicate the food but like I've said a couple of times he's not eating.
I know about the garlic thing too, I have garlicguard but not eating = no go.
Well Jungle Lab says those tabs do have an impact on the biological filter, so if it crashes I will just sue them.

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
I do have a ball python tank but I don't think it could hold that much water.
At least Zilla says don't put water in it.
Not to sound brash, but I don't care for the cohabitants in the tank as much as I care for this puffer..

Re: Please help - sick fahaka
Update: I noticed another worm so I made a video; He's swimming around happily... yet watch his anus there's a worm head sticking out it (if you can make it out). The white stuff on his back right came back.. Whatever the hell it is. His eyes look pretty bad now too. Not Cool. http://www.youtube.com...
