It heavily depends on the fish, as their behaviour can vary a lot. But from I own experience, I would not recommend it. I have my 3 irrubescos in the same tank with a common pleco, a very small adonis and a siamese algae eater.
They have never hurt the other fish and they look rather scared of the much larger common pleco.

I've recently set up a new tank for my Fahaka puffer. It's a bit larger than 400 liters (100 gallons) and my young Fahaka seems to love it! The tank is currently filtered by 2 EHEIM filters, one 2217 (1000 liters/hour) and one 2236 (600 liters/hour). I have one more 2217 which I can use for this tan...

I've already tried melafix/primafix with no results.
Water quality is perfect (ammonia 0, NO2 0, NO3 never above 15).

I'm worried that if I pop it, it could get infected. But I'm also worried of what it will turn out if I don't pop it.

No you do not add it directly to the aquarium. You must dissolve it in a bucket first. And it does take some effort to make it dissolve completely.
