Re: Good HOB skimmer?
I have 2 Eshopps PSK75H's, 1 on a 37 and the other on 28 NanoCube. Had issues with micro bubbles in the beginning (that turned out to be my fault) but everything fine now. Premium Aquatics in Indy IN has the cheapest price.

Re: I hate my tank!
Just finish with a cyano outbreak, still dealing with dino. For Aiptasia I mix a little two part epoxy putty for putting rocks together and press directly over top of it. Works everytime. Your tank is new and it will take a while to stabilize. Remember that when you change something (like adding mor...

Re: Can anyone suggest a good sw skimmer for me to buy
I've got the US version of the top one, AquaEuro USA 2, and it's not going to be enough for a 55 gallon. Here it is actual size. http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx106/jmillers62/nano%20cube/DSCN2921.jpg It skims very wet and is difficult to adjust. The second one looks like an Aquatic Life Intern...

Re: Where Am I Going Wrong?..
Sounds like your rock doesn't have enough beneficial bacteria to support the waste produced. How did you get the rock?, dry and cured by you, from an established tank, what?

Re: Guess Im going to go salt
When you get ready to start that 20L again figure starting with a budget of $500 (minimum) and consider yourself lucky if it comes in under $1000 when finished. Wait... what's the $1000 expense for? Remember that I just set up my 36g as SW and I don't think I spent over $500. Also, Xrayjeeper, do y...

Re: 10g. Snail tank
I have over 100 in a 5.5 gallon with an AC20 on it. Be prepared because a snail tank once fully stocked smells horrible. They produced a lot of waste. That little 5.5 gallon requires the majority of my maintenance time. It gets a 50-75% W/C every other day and complete filter tear down/cleaning at l...

Re: Excuses to keep your spouse from killing you.
My wife wants nothing to do with my hobbies (fish & cars) and I have no interest in hers (knitting, etc.). She spends at least what what I do on her hobbies, if not more, so the money issue isn't there. She has been spending more time looking into the marine tank I just started though.

Re: To change water or not to change
When I had a filter crash and had to emergency cycle a tank I was doing 50% water changes twice a day.
My snail breeding tank is only 5.5 gallon and that's plenty for one GSP.

Any pet store that sells live plants will have them. Most will just give them to you. I started with some that hitchhiked on a plant order and now I have a couple hundred in their own tank. To bad you don't live closer.
