From what I know its normal. Next time leave the left over shell in there so he can eat it, thats how they build back the calcium they loose while molting. I think your doing great job just try not to over feed the little guy or his water will go bad. p.s.make sure he has a way to dry land.

when it comes to buying fish, the reason they are usually already gutted is to preserve freshness. I cook/butcher alot seafood where i work and I have never gotten scallops with the shell on.

I was looking through some old post. And decided to buy half dry rock/half live rock.can it be two different kinds of rock and if so. The live rock will seed the dry rock correct. When treating a gsp what meds have people found to work the best. With out hurting the good bacteria in your tank. Plus I herd some one mention a kind of jell.
