Oops! But he was so Cute!
So, I got a Valentini today! He went in to my 29 gallon ,which is currently home to one lawnmower blenny, a few pounds of LR, featherdusters and one anemone. He is maybe an inch (at most) and buzzing around all over the place. Can I get some mushroom polyps in there you think? Any advice, as I have ...

Re: nitrite has risen.
If ammonia is zero, you do not have to re-cycle the tank. Higher nitrites and some nitrates means Your tank is just going through a mini-cycle, nothing to worry about if you keep up with changes. Just keep a close eye on Dumpy, water change at any sign of distress.

Re: Is my filter sufficient?
I actually like the Whispers filters if you are on a budget. I always recommend though, that you double up filtration on any tank. I run a whisper 60 on my 29 and it works beautifully. If you read the box on them, its says they are rated like, 10-30. I think whatever the smallest rating is is probab...

Re: very, very sad MBU
One of the reasons I put a link to that fish place video is because Mike and I picked this little guy up there. I put a comment concerning the health of their puffers on their video and they said their puffers are fine and fed every other day. (not true as you can obviously see) A month ago when we ...

Re: very, very sad MBU
haha! That is so funny Myaj, Mike and I were laughing about that the day we picked up little "moo" (so named for the mooboo puffer, lol) They always try to correct me when I say mmmmboo. They act like they know so much there, since they have so many marine biologists on staff, but this is ...

Re: Burrfish Troubles
It is definately a burr, I believe it is schoepfi. The swelling has gone down, but he did get stuck to the filter today. Had to pull him off, but now he is swimming normally. ON a good note, ich is gone.

Burrfish Troubles
A friend of mine recently got a burrfish, and I have noticed that over the last week or so, it has swelled up. His face almost looks like a cabbage patch kid. Could this be dropsy? Or would his spines be sticking out? He is about an inch and one quarter long, currently in QT being treated for ich, I...

Re: So why did he die?
Check your PH. Early on in my pufferkeeping, I lost one right after a water change because the PH shifted too much. He also was "spinning" with no control over his body.

I just wanted to tell you guys that my target died this morning. He was fine, i gave him ghost shrimp friday night and changed his water Saturday, then I found him dead today. I am super bummed, params are all great, no shift in PH, no signs of stress, no tankmates except one pleco. He was spoiled r...

You can get a 10 gallon tank with everything (filter, heater, flourescent hood) for less than 50 bucks at walmart. If you have a little extra cash I would suggest that you get one and move your rainbows and tetras to that tank, this would avoid any potential problems with the puffer. And just wonder...
