Re: New Fig 8s
Unfortunately it does seem a reasonable conclusion this will happen. As I said I was hoping to get babies but when they turned up they are close to fully grown. I thought with the babies I had a shot if they grew up together. Some of the Gobies are tiny too, less than an inch easy.

Re: New Fig 8s
Yeah, I am worried about this, thing is, at the moment they just dont seem to view fish as food. I have watched BBG's stealing food from them a lot so far, they just completely ignore them. The Molly fry too seem to be totally ignored. The shrimp on the other hand, well, they go mad when they see th...

Re: New Fig 8s
I promise to get photos as soon as I sort this camera :( The tank is 6x2x2 (180 gal). I am hoping to add more BBG's, probably around 30-40 but I hadn't thought it through properly and I'm pretty sure adding them now means the puffers may see them as food? Any ideas on how to do this? As for the snai...

New Fig 8s
Hi, just like to thank people who helped me out on my other thread. I have decided on just Fig 8s and Bumblebee Gobies which I now have. I have tried to make there as much hiding places as possible with a massive Java Fern and a smaller one, along with some fake and a mound of rock. My current stock...

Re: 180gal..F8's and BBG's
That should be a pretty sweet setup. My figure 8 is in with mollies, a knight goby, and a violet goby. He doesn't mess with anybody. If anything my gobies pick on him. I did have some mollies dissapear but I rather think that was due to Mr. Knight rather than Hikaru. Thanks, I hope so. Might be mor...

Re: 180gal..F8's and BBG's
haha yeah, too bad, I am after really young puffers so they all grow up together. Once I get the tank sorted the way I want it, I will upload photos

Re: 180gal..F8's and BBG's
Thanks alot. I was thinking about 5 but wasn't sure if the more I got, the more chance of getting a rogue individual who kills/eats all my BBG's. If you think 5 is good I am happy with that. The tank is quite complex right now actually, got quite a lot of tunnels from pipes/slate an big rocks, plus ...

Re: 180gal..F8's and BBG's
I am on TFF, just after opinions from Puffer specialists :D The snails and Shrimp I am not that bothered about, I know they will be eaten. The MTS I have would be almost impossible to clear out now I reckon. I also read somewhere that there is a small danger they can break their teeth but the smalle...

Re: 180gal..F8's and BBG's
Yeah, they are just smaller versions of the nerite snails but without the stripes and they have spikes as you say. I forgot to mention, the tank will be 1.05 in the end, I am just rising it slowly as all these were moved in from a 40gallon with very little salt in. What do you think of the stocking?

180gal..F8's and BBG's
Hi guys, my first post so be gentle if I am planning something you think wont work :) I have my 180gal set up at around 1.02sg at the moment. In it I have a ton of Cherry shrimp, A Sole, 7 BBG's, 1 Molly with a fair few fry, and a mixture of Nerite and porcupine nerite snails. Anyway, I am planning ...
