checked all parameters, ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate under .05 ph 8.3 salinity 1.024, 10 gallon water change right when i started getting worried before the post.

yep hes still breathing hard, it was a half of cube brine, half a cube mysis and a less then 1/4 of wat a cube is from rods reef food all mixed together between a couple clowns a tang and the puffer, the puffer probably ate about 35% of it. hes been laying in his cave all day, moves around a little ...

i guess there would be a chance but all my other fish are perfectly fine and none of them look like they are breathing hard, i was also thinking maybe he could just be sleeping? does anyone know if they generally breath a little bit harder when they are resting?

I just got a new porc puffer about 3 days ago because i sold my other one who was getting to big for my 75, the new one is about 1.5 to 2 inches so very small, last night he was out and i fed him a mix of brine shrimp, mysis, and squid and he loved it and ive never seen him more happy, this morning ...

My porc wasnt eating right away also, at night i would put a half shell of mussel into the tank and would watch in the moonlights and he would find and devour the mussel, maybe try that. After awhile he started coming around and eating infront of me and now its no problem!

thats wat i was thinking parasites was the biggest thing, ive used those fizz tabs before but never knew they were safe for puffers so i will definatly give those a try while qt my new puffer! thank you

porc puffer passed away- reasons?
I had my porc. puffer for about 5 weeks, was eating mussels and thats basically it, i checked my water conditions here and all was good- nitrite 0 nitrate .03 ammonia 0 phosphate 0 so i took it to my local fish shop to make sure my tests were the same and they were. so ruling out that im thinking it...

I have a couple of corals in there so i cant really turn out the lights, I put mussles in there now before i go to bed and i saw him dominating them when he thinks im not watching so im not to worried, he also quit glass surfing as much as he used to, i had to make a cave for him out of my live rock...

I got a new porcupine puffer about 3 days ago, hes about 2-3 inches long and very active, i cant get him/her to eat anything though. All it does is swim up and down one side of the glass, my water is in good condition no ammonia no nitrite, about 10 ppm nitrate and is 75 gallons until the porcupine ...

Im getting a porcupine puffer this week and i was wondering what are some cheap foods my puffer can eat on a regular basis to make sure the beak doesnt get to big?
