so after 3 weeks with 0,0,0 readings, i finally got 3ppm reading today for nitrate . Wonder what caused the 0 readings all this time even though the tank was cycled

should i make this a bb tank then add sand when he gets bigger? or should i add sand from the start?

You wouldn't need to worry about a cycle simply because a baby fahaka won't come close to producing enough waste to bring ammonia and nitrite issues up in 125 gallons of water ;) You probably wouldn't even need to do 50% changes until it gets bigger either, 10% a week will likely be plenty. why cant the moon light be stuck to the back or front edge of your ballast. Do you mean wiring the LED luminaire to the ballast of the flourescent fixture? LED's cannot be activated by a flourescent ballast, they require a driver unit (integral or external) which would come with the LED fitting. no...

I'd hesitate about buying the double to take one lamp out because the fitting might not actually work with only one lamp - best to check with the manufacturer. It would be very tempting to buy the double since there's only $10 difference but the more light the more algae but you could reduce the ph...

my tank seem to not have enough surface agitation. would it be okay to have all three parts of the spraybar point upward moving the surface and then get a power head and install that deep in the tank for current?
