No, he has not eaten yet. I will rob some filter media out of my 55g FW tank (running canister filter and fully cycled for about 6 months) tonight and put some of the 10's media in there to speed up the cycle. When I figure out how to put pics into the post, I will post one of his mouth.

I did the 80% water change last night with marine salt. He seemed to be doing better with the marine salt this morning. I had to use a improvised hydrometer to measure the salt content as my LFS did not have a hydrometer that went down to 1.000. I calibrated the improvised one to the old tank water,...

80% it is, but wouldn't that shock the puffer and the filter bacteria due to the instant removal of the old salt. I am going to get the new tank prepped today and probably move him to the new tank on Friday, and then start slowly adding marine salt.

I will check out the articles after school today. The ammonia reading just now was 0.50. 25% water change when I get home.

Some of my snails finally hatched today, so in about a week, I should have some decent sized ones. I will try feeding him some krill in the morning, see if he will take it. I will also test the ammonia in the morning and post an update.

Yes, everything (gravel, ornaments, filter media ect) will be transferred over. Would you recommend transferring only 5g over to remove the some of the pickling salt, or use all 10g. I will pick up a hydrometer and some marine salt today. After a 25% water change without salt last night i woke up and noticed that my puffer's belly is completely white. I will look at getting him into the 20g sometime this week. he still did not eat however.
