ok, im still trying to decide what puffer i want for the 20long i will probably be getting. my lfs regularly stocks GSPs and i think they keep them in brackish water. would I be able to keep a GSP in the 20long, convert the water right to marine (raise the SG about 0.002 per week), and feed it rams ...

wow, this was very helpful! if i get a GSP im gonna convert the water right to marine (slowly of course) so i dont have to worry about raising the SG several times

Ok. If i get DPs ill grab a couple amanos. If i get a bigger puffer species ill just let the feeder snails do their job lol.

ok, i know puffers eat inverts,but i was wondering if some amano shrimp could be kept with DPs since theyre bigger than DPs. could amanos be kept with gold/bronze puffers as well?

My bday is december 14, so ive got time to strike up a deal with my dad... Probably something like, "ill do all the dishes and take the trash out and clean the yard if you get me the tank and some money for the fish, gravel, and plants for my birthday."

Sweet! This is going smoothly. I just called my lfs and the owner said he can get dwarfs, auriglobius modestus, and A. silus. I just have to call him when im ready for him to order some.

Ok. Again, would taking hitchhiker and rams horn snails from petsmart and breeding them as puffer food be a good idea?

No ill have to check it out. If i get the dwarfs, how many would i be able to keep? Im not good at sexing.. The tank would be pretty well broken up. Lotsa fake & real plants, and some wood.

is it possible for me to regularly collect snails and freeze them, then feed them to the puffers as needed?

also, could i feed dwarf and silus & modestus puffers freeze dried bloodworms?

Ok, so if i got the 4 dwarfs i would just have to feed like pellets and bloodworms?

If i go with modestus or silus would it be a good idea to go to petsmart and ask them if i can take all their little hitchhiker snails and ramshorn snails out of their plant tank?
