Re: Future GSP setup!
OP, make sure you post pics of your set-up when done (or before even)!!! Love this cuz I started with 1 GSP in a 2.5 gal (sold as freshwater + Figure 8 = WRONG!). Anyway, went from 2.5 > to 25 gal > to 40 breeder... with slow salinity changes throughout. All in all... this took a long time and (as S...

Re: HUGE Live Crabs for Food!!! Help!
OK, thanks ALL.
If it's "personal choice" ... I choose Freeze 1st !!! lol
Any idea how long I should freeze them for (to make sure bacteria is killed: and also the crabs ) ?
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!bertie 83 wrote:Yes break them up into meal size portions freeze, thaw and feed away
Um... do I need to chop them up 1st? (I'm not used to killing live things with my bare hands... kinda feel bad ).
Or can I freeze them and THEN chop them when the are dead?
Thanks again!

HUGE Live Crabs for Food!!! Help!
Hi All, So my GSP (now 4") has been tiring of his mussels, so off to the seafood market I went... and now have 4 HUGE + LIVE crabs (about 5" around not including claws). Question: What do I do now? Do I throw them in the freezer? * Don't want to put them in the tank cuz they are real big* ...

Re: SW Macroaglae Tanks anyone?
Wow. I haven't seen that one before. Very nice! Sounds good. I definitely agree on avoiding sexual macros. I can't imagine trying to deal with those. You could always remove the ones that are about to (turning white I believe..?) and placing them into a holding tank, but that's a fair bit of work.....

Re: SW Macroaglae Tanks anyone?
YES! I absolutely adore macros, and their benefits. I've been thinking about, after Christmas, hopefully doing one myself of about 30 gallons (with small gobies at first-- a larger tank with seahorses & related down the road), attached to a NPS reef. What macros were you thinking of getting? :D...

Re: SW Macroaglae Tanks anyone?
I would love to have a large macroalgae tank. I have seen pictures or seen a few really cool set-ups, but I would want it without potential predators. If I wanted it as a working tool for a puffer tank, I would set it as a linked tank beside or below the puffer's tank - as if it were a jumbo macroa...

SW Macroaglae Tanks anyone?
Was thinking of going the SW planted "macroalgae" tank route with my green spotted puffer.
Anyone else doing this???
Seems like a good way to keep nitrates down and cheaper than corals with less chance of being eaten by the GSP.
Also adds color and interest to the tank....take a look!!!

Re: Maroon clown hosting powerhead.
Not sure a nem + a curious GSP (without scales) is a good idea. :geezer: anyone know of a good link that classifies the nems by like hardiness, difficulty or anything. im interested in getting one but 1) i dont know how my GSP will take to it and 2) i only have the stock T8 lighting so i dont think ...
