Re: HOB to Cannister

Another vote for fluval here. In my 30 gallon, Im currently running a 205 rated at 180gph and it keep the water crystal clear. I just bought another filter off ebay; a fluval 405. I got it for $129, which is an awesome deal IMO. So I figure if I run both, I should be way more than covered. And I can...

Re: TPF Needs your help! FAQ & Photos

Hello! I walked in today to find my GSP curled up taking a nap on the bottom of the tank, and I managed to snap a picture before he woke up. Here it is! I tried to get a second one, but he woke up too fast! http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j103/BobbyEngnath/0203001501.jpg If you need the original p...

Re: Just ordered 2 Maxi-Jet 1200

Well, I got them today! I guess 2 was a little overkill. I only have one in the tank, agetating the surface for gas exchange, and WOW! Does that thing move some water! I guess next time, Ill control myself and just buy the recommended size for my tank. And at least now I have an extra powerhead in c...

Re: Just ordered 2 Maxi-Jet 1200

I hope you used the DFS rebate? I have 2 on either end of my 90g reef tank, after battling cyano in there. They seem to be working well. SAD NEWS PP! I remember seeing something on here about DFS, like a coupon code, but I didnt see it while skimming over the threads yesterday. I tried using the se...

Just ordered 2 Maxi-Jet 1200

Re: do you give your puffers vitamins in their food?

I tried Zoe once and none of my fish would eat the food soaked in it. :( I soak the freeze dried food for my puffer and scat 1-2 times a week with zoe and they eat it right up. I noticed the puffer has begun to gain some weight, but not in a bad way. He always used to be skinny between feedings, bu...

Re: Snails...

How big are the snails that you are trying to feed him? They should only be the size of his eye. If they are too big, he wont be able to crush the snail shell with his beak causing him to loose interest.

Re: IMO, A great thing to add to a puffer's food

If I go to the fish store and get a cray, do I just throw it in the fish tank and wait for the puffer to eat it? Will the cray eat for a while if my puffer loses interest in a specific gravity of 1.018?
