Re: 45 gallon puffer tank?
Thanks for the suggestions, I went to a fish place today and they only had figure eight puffers. I bought a lyretail cichlid for my cichlid setup, but still no luck for puffers, I'm going tomorrow to my next closest fish shop 'Viscum'. They have lots of variety for cichlids and puffers but it just d...

Re: 45 gallon puffer tank?
Thanks for the info guys just hope now that I find these puffers, I can ask my lfs to get them in as usually they don't let me down but they are not to big on puffers in fw but mainly in marine section. They normally bring in the gsp and f8 puffers and keep them in fw even when bigger than 5cm which...

Re: 45 gallon puffer tank?
Nine, possibly a few more. The rule of thumb is generally one per five gallons, but dwarfpuffers.com says 3-5. Still be careful. Dwarf puffers are one of the few that you can sex, but you're likely to find them too young to do so. This is important as you want more females than males. ok, do youkno...

Re: 45 gallon puffer tank?
You really can't keep more than one of any of those puffers (listed at the top) with the exception of dwarf puffers, and of course SAP's. The others you listed do not get along with their own kind or any other puffers and/or fish. So whatever you decide on, you need to know that you can't have any ...

Re: 45 gallon puffer tank?
The size of the tank is kind of in no mans land for a lot of the FW species. Abei and Cochinchinensis you might never see. Modestus on their own as well. You could have a large group of Dwarfs but they are small. Then you think you would like to keep other fish with them so the SAPs are the obvious...

Re: 45 gallon puffer tank?
I can find SAPs at my lfs as they have them in quite often but I went today to check if they have them in and other puffers but since the Volcano eruption all the airports being shut down they cannot bring in any more stock in. Even though that I knew that they imported over seas but just never came...

Re: 40 gallon puffer tank?
Hmm, I was thinking of going brackish but I am only limited to the f8 and gsp right? I think I might stick to fw then consider going brackish. Any suggestions..? Edit: actually I do have a 8" floating dock station from my turtles, if I ever did consider brackish and chose mudskippers would they...

Re: need some opinions/recommendations :)
Also another thing try to make sure that you do get the Carinotetraodon irrubesco and not Carinotetraodon lorteti which in my opinion is best as community (Carinotetraodon irrubesco) even with a species tank. However not like the Carinotetraodon lorteti as they are far more aggressive fish and even ...
