Re: Possible puffer sexing thread

From what I've heard, kinda new research shows that with GSPs at least, spawning is apparently done in full saltwater. Rereading this just now kinda gave me a little bit more hope in getting some info about possible puffer sexing as well. :)

Re: Possible puffer sexing thread

I understand how it's already been tried and proven to be pretty much impossible to sex f8s and gsps, but I've still been itching to dabble into the possibility of even the most minor dimorphisms. My puffer personally has a slimmer shape (after I feed him, his belly is big but everything after is st...

Possible puffer sexing thread

Hey everyone, :D I haven't posted here in a while for various reasons but now that I'm back, I want to start something interesting. With my concern of wild collection of puffer fish (particularly figure 8 and gsp etc) and its effect on their population I've been taking interest in the possibility of...

Re: Brackish Water Mixing Part 2

What if after I'm done with acclimating? What would the specific gravity of the mix have to be after every 25% water change?

Re: Large GSP commercial breeding! Must read!

That is probably exactly what happens. I read somewhere that in the wild adult GSPs live in fresh/low end brackish rivers.

What about 25% waterchanges? Will this apply to that as well?

Re: GSP Breeding Article

I'm believing that adult GSPs normally stay in low end brackish, then move to reefs to breed, and then when the babies hatch, they swim back to rivers and grow up there.

Re: Large GSP commercial breeding! Must read!

Maybe GSPs only go into the ocean to breed. Don't Archerfish do that as well?

Re: Getting a figure 8 puffer fish soon. Maybe in a month.

You will also need to remove the snails and only put them back in at feeding time. When you add the salt, it will kill them, resulting in an ammonia spike. Um... The snails are MTS and they can acclimate to brackish and even low end marine EASY. I had a load of those things in my molly tank that wa...
