I dont have anything to measure the current salt level(im a little low on cash right now) but i measured out how much salt ill...

Re: GSP with...erm...something black?
No, water, by itself, is not "cycled". The bacteria needed to cycle a tank, lives on surfaces, not in the water column: http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/water-filtration/emergencycycle/ Thank you for this article! I am about to do a BIG water change, and hopefully that will hel...

Re: GSP with...erm...something black?

The tank was first used by my mother some years ago then had been sitting for a few years. I took it outside and washed it out for about an hour, made sure it didnt leak, and adde...

Re: GSP with...erm...something black?
What test kits are you using, something's not right. Also, are you defrosting & rinsing those frozen blocks of food? I am using the API Freshwater Master Test Kit. I noticed it was freshwater when I bought it and asked the worker who showed me it if it would still give me accurate results for a...

Sick GSP. The Curse of the Incurable Ich! Help Please.
I recently purchased two 1 and a half inch GSP's from the local pet store. I have a 3 gallon tank whose only inhabitants are 2 GSP's. I’ve added the proper amount of aquarium salt and purchased a heater that is currently set at 79 F. Everything went great for the first week until I noticed white sp...
