Re: Mbu Puffer Breathing Very Rapidly...
My MBU sadly died. Pufferpunk... a dog and a fish are very different issues. A fish is not even as close in complexity as a a dog's brain activity and overall anatomy. If a fish isn't breathing normally, there's only a few potential issues (which you have yet to list). It doesn't take a lot of knowl...

Re: Mbu Puffer Breathing Very Rapidly...
The store I purchased this Mbu from has a puffer that is 12 years old that they had since a baby and it is at least 24" and its in a 150 gallon tank. Fish is very responsive and looks very healthy. I would take its sign of activity as a sign of happiness. So, obviously you haven't had experienc...

Re: Mbu Puffer Breathing Very Rapidly...
I am done with this forum. This is my second post of concern about by puffer since I've had him and both times all I hear about is that this little 3 inch fish needs a $20,000-$30,000 - 1,000 Gallon tank. I understand it can give massive. When and if we get to that bridge of it getting 2 feet or gr...

Re: Mbu Puffer Breathing Very Rapidly...
Well this morning he was breathing really really fast and heavy and was staying hidden. I don't know if I am just over-thinking the matter or what; however I put him in an isolated tank "emergency tank" with some food in there so I can monitor him better. I have not really seen him eat in ...

Re: Mbu Puffer Breathing Very Rapidly...
A professional tank cleaning is when you pay a company to come out and completely take care of the aquariam. I am not a marine biologist or an aquatic whatever.. I pay for people that specialize in that to take care of it for me. The MBU is very small, only about 3.5 inches long and 2 inches at his ...

Re: Is My Puffer Sick or Sleeping?
It is a Mbu puffer. I thought I mentioned it but I didn't. I just took my net and gave him the most gentle nudge and he "woke" up and starting swimming all around. I am so relieved. The frontossa is extremely slow growing and is not that large... yet. All the fish are small even the puffer...

Is My Puffer Sick or Sleeping?
I've had my puffer, Gill (named from the movie "What About Bob"), for a little over a week.... he likes snails. My puffer, just started this morning, floating at the bottom of the rocks next to a big rock his eyes and gills will move, but he is just "laying" there. Is he sleeping...
