Re: A hump on the back of my GSP
it is smooth, looks more like swelling underneath its skin. I don't see any wound on him and he's eating well and really active. the only thing new i added to the tank was a live red-claw crab a week ago as like a treat. But i did De-Clawed the crab (like i cut the claws out before i put it into the...

Re: GPS puffing up
i've seen one puffed up.
my other puffer was having a little chase play/fight with him then he turned around and puffed.
they were both ok tho, still white belly after the puff.
i guess they could be playing while practicing their "puffing" technique

Re: cleaning a BW tank?
I think i read it somewhere in the forum saying that if u want to raise the salinity slowly, general rule of thumb is the new water (if u r doing a 50% change) should be at a salinity at doubling it's desire salinity. for example, your current salinity is 1.002 and u wanna raise it to 1.004. The sal...

cherry shrimp in BW?
i'm just wondering if cherry shrimps r gonna be ok in BW of salinity around 1.006? cuz my ghost shrimp r doing fine in the tank for weeks..helping me clean the tank a bit (my puffers don't really bother them if i keep the puffers well feed. and there's plenty hiding places in the tank. I just lost o...

Re: GSP on sales makes me sad. =(
yea, and sometimes even after i tell them that puffers are not community fish and that they need a larger BW tank setup. i often get the answer of "don't worry, he's small right now, he will be fine, he's been in my tank for like a week and he's still alive!" people just won't listen!! sig...

Re: Checklist for new aquarium.
I think u can start adding the salt in. The higher temp will actual help dissolving the salt a bit.

Re: Checklist for new aquarium.
U don't need to add the bio-spira or safestart when u set up the tank as it's a instant cycle. Just add it in the water right before u add the fish into the tank. Otherwise, without ammonia the bacteria from the biospira r just gonna die and u'll be wasting $$

Re: problem with the upgraded tank

problem with the upgraded tank
ok.. so i moved the 3 GSP (all about 1.5 inches) into the 95 gallon with all my old water, decor, gravel, and filter about 5 days ago. i raised the salinity a bit in the bigger tank to 1.006 (was 1.004). i dripped them when transferring them into the big tank. temperature, Nitrate, Nitrite, ammonia ...

trimming teeth?
just out of curiosity. i read in couple of posts that if a GSP's teeth is like over-grown, its teeth need to be trimmed? but like how...? i thought puffers r not suppose to be like out of the tank, as they can be puffing up with air, which is like dangerous? i know feeding snails to PREVENT it from ...
