My puffer hasn't grown at all!
I've had my GSP for almost a year now and he still looks the same size as when I got him, he is about 2 inches long. He is in a 30 gallon brackish water tank I feed him daily (a mix of ghost shrimp blood worms and snails) I check the water levels, make sure everything is good, I mean he's been a hap...

Trouble with Nitrite
I cannot get the nitrite level's to regulate. Ive done 2 water changes in the past week and a half both 10gallons out of my 29 gallon tank. My ammonia level is always 0 ppm But my nitrite goes from .25-1 I've used products made to lower nitrite levels but it only ends up being temporary. any ideas??

Yes, prime does say on the bottle is detoxifies nitrites.LilGreenPuffer wrote:On the bottle, it doesn't say that Prime neutralizes nitrites. Amquel+ does, I think.

Re: Puffer swimming around smashing into stuff
I know it's toxic, but I can only do so much, I've been doing water changes and adding the prime. I'm going to read the sig, and see if it has any info that is going to help me.Pufferpunk wrote:I'm glad it's getting better but ANY amount if nitrite is toxic. Read my sig.
Edit* lol, funny. Water changes! lol

Re: Puffer swimming around smashing into stuff

Someone might have some other ideas. my nitrite has been coming in at .25 for the past week, i used bio spira and tried to cycle it. I tried usi...

Puffer swimming around smashing into stuff
It wasn't till recently I've noticed my GSP started to swim up and down the sides of the tank ALOT. Now he is swimming up and down smashing into the rocks at the bottom, hitting random objects around the tank like he cant see or something.

Re: Best product for clearing ICK
Yay thanks to good advice, some through PMs some from posts. The ick is physically gone, I'm going to keep the temp up in the tank, with 2 airstones. But my fishy looks happy and healthy, he is using all of his fins freely, no more rubbing and spazzing out. I'm going to monitor it closely for the ne...

Best product for clearing ICK
I purchased my puffer 4 days ago, and he had ick when I got him. I got Jungle Laboratories Ick Guard II Liquid. I've used it 3 times, over 72 hours, changing out 25% of the water before each treatment. My fish still has ick, and it seems to be bothering him a great deal. Can anyone recommend a good ...

Re: So I got scared for my little puffer!!
I'm trying to test the nitrite, but the kit I bought, was missing the color chart. Its API, and the site doesn't seem to have one I can print out. (tank size was 29 gallons). there is a little picture on the side of the box and its looks like the top block color so hopefully thats zero. im going to ...

Puffer rubbing his body up against stuff.
My puffer keeps rubbing the side of his body against stuff in the tank, always his right side. He also let himself get sucked to the filter for a second, then he swims away (on his right side) Any suggestions?

New "Leopard Puffer" 1.75 Inches! Uncycled Tank
So I put up a new 29 gallon tank for 1 Leopard or GSP as he has been called. I did a lot of research about food, parasites, tank size type and decor. He was being kept in full salt water, and I was told that brackish is best, right now he is in 1.010 salinity. He has eaten snails, ghost shrimp, and ...
