As long as you keep up the daily water changes he should, he will not be very happy at all and it can't be guaranteed, but he should. If you can get the 15 gal up sooner I'm sure he'd appreciate it. ok so now im a little confused. i still havent put my GSP in the tank, and i decided to check the salinity once more just to make sure........ and it was 1.012......? I'm debating on whether I should but him in, because I don't want him to be shocked if there is too much salt..... what should i do?...

ok, so im new to all of this fish stuff... I just changed my GSP's tank water (2.5 gallons, i know i need a bigger tank. I'm working on it) and added 1/8 of a cup of Instant Ocean marine salt. I let the tank run for half an hour and checked the salinity with a hydrometer. it was between 1.004 and 1....

Oh, dear. This is a whole 'nother can of worms. A GSP will grow up to 6in, and will require at least 30g. Don't stress about that right now. Focus on the 15g. You can worry about the 30g once he's in a fully cycled tank. The 15g will hold you for a few months. There is an article in the PufferPedia...

ok i will ASAP. I'll get it set up and everything and put him in there as soon as i can. I guess he's not a f8... he's a GSP which i got the two confused, so my bad. But, thanks for all of your help! its appreciated greatly

What are these for? If they help with ammonia, then sure, go for it, but don't overdose them until you know how much ammonia is actually in there.
