Re: Using well water in aquarium

For all of that, why don't you just invest in a liquid test kit, then you can check your well water as it is, and regularly check your aquarium water for any issues (or no issues). https://www.amazon.com/API-Freshwater-Master-Test-Kit/dp/B00K004TNO/ref=sr_1_10?crid=2A9M7M8RMD9DX&keywords=api+tes...

Re: Spotted congo puffer gasping and unable to float

There must be something wrong with that water.
What are you using to test it?
Have you done any water changes since the onset of this?
Might be a good place to start..................test the water, change the water.

What kind of snails?

Re: Wanted: Orange or Red Congo Puffer

Great news. After my LFS said they haven't seen them in stock for a long time they are getting some in later this week! Question I have a 30 long setup, cycled and ready to go. I'd like to get two, do you all think they would be ok together short term while I get a second tank setup and cycled? The...

Sorry that happened to you.
For future reference, most (if not all), puffers are not community tank compatible.

can't say much without knowing the details, but getting rid of that ammonia is a MUST!
whatever is causing it could well be the root of the problem.

Re: Leopard frog tankmates?

you keep contradicting what you say. If you had done your research, you would know that a leopard frog needs a semi-aquatic environment, and that a 20g long tank is not nearly big enough to provide that. I am fully aware that leopard frogs are semi-aquatic, and am also aware that this is about fish...

Re: Leopard frog tankmates?

Thanks! I have plenty of experience with pets, and wasn’t planning on getting the frog any time soon, and have already done plenty of research towards the matter. The tank I’m getting is more than enough space for one frog. Anything I do when it comes to pets involves extensive research. I was just...

I'd further research the info in this link, but just wanted you to realize that there's more to keeping these animals than just expecting them to have any kind of life in a small tank full of water.
