"seams" in the skin

Someone on the Dutch pufferforum ( http://www.kogelforum.nl ) asked an interesting question. Some puffers have "seams" on their skin, almost like a scar. I can't see any logic in the position of these "seams". My old puffer had it as well. Here's a picture: http://www.monsterfish...

Re: We're having doubts about Puffer id...

Could the color change be because of mating behavior?

Re: We're having doubts about Puffer id...

haha yes, but I gyess they are still to small.

I was thinking. There is still no explination for the slower growth of the "borown bellied" puffer compared to the other. What do experts think?

Re: We're having doubts about Puffer id...

So definately GSP and no reason to separate or treat the puffers?

I believe the owner said they are otherwise perfectly ok.

Re: We're having doubts about Puffer id...

Does Shakespeare get brown or black?

I didn't know GSP's did this. Could GSP's be caught in different area's and thus have different variants?

Re: We're having doubts about Puffer id...

Yes, I've got all my money on GSP to. But how do you explain the brown belly??

Normally the belly is black when the puffer has high stress?

We're having doubts about Puffer id...

On the dutch puffer forum we have a member with two puffers. Because of the difference in growth, we started to doubt if both are GSP's. One stays much smaller and has a brown belly now and then. We're thinking it might be a weird looking Fluviatilis. Other option is that the puffer is being bullied...

Re: Jumping Ceylon

Including tail he is about 18 cm. Tanksize 150 liter.

They grow very very slowly though. They say Ceylons can reach 20 cm, but I think this is about as big as they get (never seen bigger).
