Been looking at these in the aqualog book, these guys come from africa like lineatus does these come from cameroon so if they were caught from there would be a much safer bet and they are cited to reach 36cm in length which is smaller than the linetus. Been reading reading up a little more and gett...

Been looking around for my info for you and found this
Comes from africa, madagascar, india, sri lanka, south east asia; so does seem to be a widespread species so some diversity in markings and patterns will be apparent, and they can reach 30cm/12".

They are very inactive fish when ive worked with our group of youngsters at work they spent most of the day buried and even at feeding time were very reserved. Mum and dad again were very inactive but rather than burying they prefered to spend their time in a tube.

Thanks for the reply bruce... thats so helpfull as i was going to buy a second fish (kept seperately) but wanted a pair.. looking at your breeding pair they look like 2 different fish completely! im now thinking mines a female! Its recently become a completely different fish, he/she is really activ...

I wonder how they got on i wonder if the lineatus got used to the tankmates, agressive species are usually more tolerant of tankmates when they are grown on together when young. but it was 7 yrs ago!

Definatly looks like a dwarf puffer to me, but i see the resemblence to a lineatus
