Re: Need dwarf puffer help!
Hi! It is a tank that has been used by convicts. I have just moved the convicts to a 55 and am preparing the tank for the puffers. The filter has old media in it so I am assuming the bacteria I need. I did remove the gravel as I am going to add a sandy beach area with gravel in the back so will take...

Well, I made a mistake and got green spotted puffers so have to take them back. I saw Indian Dwarf Puffers for sale, freshwater so I am going to try those. I have a 38 gallon. How many would you recommend? The other fish with them will be a Chinese Algae Eater, maybe. I have heard loaches are good w...

Re: What type of puffer/
I cannot believe they flush them!!!My only option if my lfs does not take them is to set up my 55 gallon tank in the basement. I didn't want to do that as I never use the basement and where is the enjoyment of having your fish where you can't see them?

Re: Mislabeled!!
I bought it from Walmart. I never buy fish from them and was excited when I saw them there. Should have done the research first. I am going to call my fav lfs I do all my business with and see if they will take them.

Re: What type of puffer/
Shoot! I hate to take them back and will see if my LFS will take them. I get attached pretty fast to fish and have 3 tanks as it is. I would keep one in a 38 but am not sure if I can meet the needs maintaining water quality. Oh well. Might get a freshwater dwarf instead! Bummer Boy, I wish you guys ...

Mislabeled!!
Yikes. I picked up what I thought were Figure 8 Puffers from WalMart and they are in fact green spotted puffers. All yellow, white bellies, black spots on their backs! What would you suggest. I had first made the mistake of adding aquarium salt to a 14 gallon for 2 juvies. When I make water changes,...

Re: Cycling With Bio-Spira
I used BioSpira on my freshwater tanks and yes, it works great! It comes as a liquid, shipping can be costly, however, the time it saves for those of us (me) that are impatient, is worth the price.

already goofed
Well, I have already made several bloopers in this new hobby. I added aquarium salt to the 14 gallon I am keeping 2 figure 8 puffers in. I know it should be a bigger tank from reading unfortunately after the fact. My puffers are an inch big at this time. I have fed them dried shrimp which they loved...
