Re: BIG Mbu at work!

 you better hope that Dwaine makes no suprise visits to your work! ;)

Glad your shop actually has ethics with Mbu's, ever LFS around here sell them without even asking if they know how big they get, if you know what to feed them or your tank size :(

Re: Dwarf Puffer watching PC screen :)

Awww they are so cute when they do that! :D Winston has always liked watching me on the computer, I figured it was because I play WoW and he liked the moving bright pictures :D The DPs tank is also next to Joeri's PC and there is one little female who is always watching the screen :D We always joke...

Re: Pufferfish anatomy

Not quite. Winston has two little stalky antenna thingies just a little way below his eyes near his mouth.

I think all puffers have them.

Pufferfish anatomy

I bet I will end up feeling really stupid after asking this, but I have been wondering it since I first saw a pufferfish

What are the little stalky thingies near the puffer's eyes?

I'm a sado, I voted for my own pic
 isn't that cheating? ;)

Dwaine is very handsome! He looks so different to Winston in colours though! Winston has always had a very bright yellow belly whereas Dwaine's looks white!

Do all puffer species start so small or are the larger ones larger? (even asking that sounds kinda silly... :D

Re: Sterazin and Protozin

I did a huge water change this morning (80%ish) to see if that would help the fishes. I also took out all the plants and snails to get them ready for the move and cleaned the filter. I've not cleaned out the filter in about 3 months, but somehow in that time the carbon in my Fluval 305 has disinter...

Re: I Picked the Picky Puffers! (DPs)

Welcome! :D

I have 2 Armano shrimp in with my DPs and 2 Ottos.

The Armanos are quite a lot bigger than the Cherries and they are surviving well (at the moment anyway! :D)

Maybe worth getting the bigger shrimp as they are less likely to become a tasty snack? ;)

Re: Sterazin and Protozin

Ahh I see, thanks! :D

I'll see if I can find something large enough to use as a QT.

I'll do an extra water change in the morning too I think, see if that helps...

I swear they're doing this on purpose - been watching me pack and so pretending to be ill to add to the stress of it all!

Re: Sterazin and Protozin

I guess I could put the unhealthy ones into a bucket, but as Winston is about 10" long he's too big for the bucket (plus having to move him in a week I am trying to avoid as much stress for him now as I can). Would it not be worth treating everyone just in case? (First time I've ever needed to...

I'll have to treat the whole system unfortunately as my quarantine tank is already in Belgium :? (typical - only time I have ever needed it)
