Re: Cherry shrimp in freshwater tank

Good call. I have noticed in all of my tanks that once I have fish in certain tanks, to much of a change and everything starts to go bad (moving my old fahaka from 1 tank to another refused food for almost 2 weeks). It looks like you have a well established tank with some entertaining critters in it...

Re: Cherry shrimp in freshwater tank

I would leave him where he is. Keep an eye on the number of snails you have and give it time. As long as you see the number of snails increasing everything should be fine. Are you basing this purely on speculation or have you witnessed him eating the eggs?

Re: Need suggestions

That is probably what happened in the SA tank. I've already started this process tonite, and I'm going to follow through with it till it really seems completely gone after a month. At the same time I think having multiple solutions to any problem is a good thing. When I treated the rays that was dif...

Re: Need suggestions

I've used that treatment before. Once with rays it worked great, another time with SA cichlids and it came back. I'm going to do this normally I like to use a quick med treatment as long is the medication is appropriate for the fish. Aquari-sol has worked very well for some of my scaleless fish (cat...

My 2 inch Fahaka just went through an IP treatment and I changed the water every day little by little till it was back to normal. Last night I noticed white spot on his fins not bad but its there, tonite I saw him flick off of a rock. He is in a 75 gallon tank, no tank mates, ammo 0, nitrite 0, nitr...

Re: Grey marbled Miurus

GREAT NEWS!!!! Today I came home from work and decided I would just try to throw some dethawed mysis shrimp in his tank. He came out of the sand and sure enough he did not let 1 piece escape! He then swam around for 2 minutes then went back under the sand. So not only did he eat, he ate frozen like ...

Re: Grey marbled Miurus

Haha right on! Now that you mention it Pufferpunk I'm gonna name him Junior. Sounds a lot better than Sid my Fahaka. On to a more serious note I really would like to stay away from any live foods I was thinking of soaking his dethawed food in 1 of those garlic products that are out there. I've never...

Re: Grey marbled Miurus

Well I'm the proud pappy of a baby 2 inch Miurus. After all the back n forth I paid $75. I don't know why but the owner asked what I was putting him in I told him a 40 breeder with lots of sand. He told me sand was a bad idea because they hide a lot. Well duh.... Anyway I got him and he is beatin up...

Re: Ratchet proves his intelligence

I had a similar experiance with my 1st Fahaka when I had my wisdom teeth taken out I was drugged up pretty bad when my girlfriend (at the time) and I walked by his tank he was begging for attention, I went strait to bed. She later told me that after I went to bed she came out to look at him, he look...

Re: Grey marbled Miurus

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna post some pics shortly after I get him, I also bought a 1 inch Fahaka about a week ago that I gotta show too. As far as going lower on the price the owner seems to be a bit of a %$#@!!!!! Pufferpunk what can I say I'm a simple man with simple pleasures :D

Re: Grey marbled Miurus

100 dollars sounded steep but I wasn't sure. Thanks everyone I really listen to all the information I am givin. The guy I've been talking with has him in a 20 long barebottom so while the price is steep I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy him. Who knows maybe he'll have a ton of personality when he's...

Re: Grey marbled Miurus

I've read that article before but thank you. I think I'm going to get this guy, I've got an empty 40 gallon breeder tank I think he would be happy in. I didn't ask the owner what he's eating I'll do that today. I'm still curious as to the going price on 1 of these right now
