Re: Hermit crabs with puffs?
My GSP leaves my hermits alone for the most part but there are days where he's a little more ornery or hungry than usual and tries to get them. He's usually more intent on eating my margarita snails.

Re: How did you find The Puffer Forum?
Google when I was panicking about an IP in my first puffer a couple years ago.

Re: What's your tanks salinity?
My GSP is just over two inches long and his tank is a FOWLR at 1.026. Out of experience with this puffer specifically, his whole personality seemed to level out with the higher salinity. He doesn't pace at all anymore, his colors are brighter and he seems more interactive at full marine compared to ...

Re: Quick gsp question
GSP's are omnivorous I believe. I've read about how they bite little chunks out of plants when housed in fresh water or low end brackish. I'm pretty sure mine was nibbling on a piece of macro algae it found, either that or it's my clown...don't know which is more likely!!

Re: Anyone feeling Batty?
Wow, that's super lucky!!! I've always been told to kill bats if I can reach them because if I can reach them they're probably sick, and if they're sick it's probably rabies...don't care, they're adorable! They were my favorite animals to tend to at a wildlife shelter near my house. Such an awesome ...

Re: FW tank with play ground sand
I've used it before and it's a huuuuuge pain. You really have to rinse it for hours and hours, I did about two pounds at a time and it took me almost an hour for each batch. I had it in a well-planted tank for five years and it worked out ok, but it really is a huge headache to get prepared for your...

Re: Which puffer to buy?
Definitely true. I'm sort of a "save everything you can!" idiot sometimes though. It'd definitely depend on the illness, just like I wouldn't buy a puffer with huge obvious illnesses because it's pretty rare not to get really attached and unlucky at the same time. ...I'm going to go hug my...

Re: gsp and marine conditions..
Mm, I guess I was kind of scarred by a video on youtube of a lionfish eating one. I've always been interested by the relationship between these shrimp and their hosts.

Re: My Weird Little Puffer
What's a long time? Also is the new tank all cycled? If it is, give him a couple days to adjust. Sometimes they're just grumpy.
