he eats mussels ok but i want to get him onto cockles in shells to keep his teeth down.

hes only eating mussels that are not in the shell. i tried garlic on a mussel but he just spat it straight out. wiggling it in front didn`t work either. thanks for your help.

how to get suvattii eating cockles?
When i first got my suvattii i soon got him feeding on mussels but i want to get him onto cockles with shells now so I'm trying him on the shell-less version to start, but he will only chew them and spits them out. hes not eaten for nearly 3 weeks now and I'm getting concerned for him. hes not looki...

as i said all test are zero. tank was started with squeezings from my 5ft tank and i`m monitoring the water daily. Its a 4 ft tank running with a sump. no food has been added yet and i`m not using any other additives. water was changed this morning before adding the squeezings and the fish were accl...

help with suvattii.
one of my suvattii is panting and rolling about listlessly on the bottom of the tank. the other seems quite happy. Ammonia Nitrate and Nitrite are all zero but i did a 25% water change just to be safe. I`ve also turned off the lights to be on the safe side. can anybody help with suggestions

thanks pufferpunk. main job for the weekend is a sturdy perspex partition with holes to allow flow. I think its better to be safe than sorry! lfs said it would be ok as they are from the same brood but i would rather trust experience.

thanks for your reply suz. sounds like i just need to watch and see what happens then. its a 4 ft tank and they are only 3-4 inches long. can you recommend what type of medication i could use if anything should happen as i would like to get something in ready?

thanks for your reply. not sure if they are a male or female as its impossible to sex them. i`ll keep a close eye on them if i see any agro i have a piece of perspex i can use to divide the tank with and then think about what to do. so how do you get a breeding pair if they cant be sexed and males f...

ok thanks. so if i took this all the way to a marine set up could i keep anything else with my gsp? I`v always fancied doing a marine tank and this seems a good way to get started.

thanks for your replies. at the moment he`s(?) in a 2` tank but over the next couple of weeks i`m going to built a rack for 3 x 3` tanks with a sump. what is the SG for a marine tank? I`v only kept tropicals so far.
