Re: RIP F8
Thanks pufferpunk. I noticed your recent loss also. Sorry for your loss of such a unique specimen.

Re: RIP F8
Well, after a week or so of thinking, I decided to get another puffer. Also, I just bought my first DSLR camera, so when he is out of quarantine and into the tank, I will try to get some pics.

Re: RIP F8
Well, then I will let him I think. I don't know if I will do less water changes, but I like the idea that he may live happier by himself. (as in lower amounts of waste)
Thank you for your response.

RIP F8
Well, I treated for IPS and to no avail. The little puff would try so hard to eat, but was never able to hold the food for very long. I am honestly surprised he lasted as long as he did. I am very sad. On a more positive note, my other F8 is doing VERY well. Very alert, nice rounded body, great colo...

Re: Odd shaped F8- PLEASE HELP
Also, it is definitely IPs. I noticed the sick puffer had a tell tale stringy poo.

Re: Odd shaped F8- PLEASE HELP
Well I picked up the fizz tabs. I have to admit that it seems a bit weird for me to put "fizz tabs" into my fish tank!
But if it works, I will be very happy.

Re: Odd shaped F8- PLEASE HELP
2 questions.
First can I get the needed medication from Petco, and what would it be called? It is the only store that I will be able to go to tomorrow.
Second, can I safely feed both puffers with the IPS medicine? Or should I only feed the infected one.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Odd shaped F8- PLEASE HELP
Unfortunately I do not have a camera to take a picture. Maybe a better way to describe this would be; Imagine you were to hold the puffer by the tail and pinch his sides together, not his stomach though, just the rear of the fish. He almost looks emaciated immediately behind his stomach.

Odd shaped F8- PLEASE HELP
Moderator- please move this thread if you feel it is misplaced. Hello all. I have 2 F8s in a 29 gal aquarium. I have had them for about 3 months now. They both eat very well, but they are taking on different shapes. The larger of the 2 has a very nice "puffer figure" (nice round belly and ...

Re: bubble curtain?
Wow, I feel like such a newb! I guess I assumed that in fresh/brackish you NEEDED some form of additional agitation because you do not have all of the other fancy stuff running(powerheads, protein skimmers, refugium pumps, etc.) So the verdict is: As long as I have a strong enough HOB filter, I can ...

Re: bubble curtain?
Please excuse my ignorance on this topic, but I thought it was necessary to have some type of oxygenation in your tank!? If not an air stone, then what else?

Re: Tank decorations for F8
Thanks alot everybody! I really appreciate it! Update on the F8 tank: I decked out the tank with some fake plants, and one of my hideout logs from an old terrarium (I cleaned it very well first). I tried to provide alot of cover areas and just kind of put the plants where they created the best inter...

Re: Tank decorations for F8
Plants are a good idea. Thanks. I will look into them.
Also, I love the look of driftwood, but like you said, I thought there was a chance that with BW the wood doesn't hold up.
I guess it is time to go hit the search button again. Thanks!

Tank decorations for F8
Ok, so after using the search function, I found that the consensus seems to be the more decorations the merrier. Am I right? One of my puffers is already pacing the glass. The other one seems to be happy exploring still. I am still getting used to the whole fake tank. My reef has absolutely zero fak...
