I have 2 of them and they really "need" each other. They really orientate towards each other and are more confident together. I would always keep 2.

Re: F8 with NO tankmates?
Mhhh, I think I will not add any fish...
Now I try to achieve a SG of 1,002, by making water changes with 2,5 gallon of this specific gavity, so I think it will be slow enough. Later (if Muffin grows a little bit) I will achieve a SG of 1,005.

Re: F8 with NO tankmates?
Update:
Muffin becomes more and more tame. He comes to the front immediatly if he can see me. Yesterday he took some food out of my hand, that was great.
Furthermore he got a tankmate: a Neritina snail, and untill now he didn't touched her.
Best,
Jessy

Re: Show your F8 setups!
Hey!
Since 4 days it's brackish and the plants should survive, cause ist java fern, java moss and vallisneria.
Till now they seem fine...
The tank is 20 gallon and there is one lamp with 15W.

Re: F8 with NO tankmates?
Hi! Ich changed the set up of my tank to this: http://www.aquarienzauber.de/images//pict6609.jpg My F8 loves it more than before, his is almost not pacing the glasses anymore and develops everything. I think, the most important is: Lot's of decor to explore and perhaps changing decor Best, Jessy

F8 with NO tankmates?
Hey guys, I'm from germany, sorry for my bad english. I do have a figure 8 puffer for about one week right now. He's about 1-1,5 inches tall living in a 20 gallon tank.
